Walker Hearing Aid Centers |

About Our Clinic

55+ Years

Walker Hearing Aids have been a part of the Houston community for over 55 years. In 1952 our founder Ben Walker, opened a small hearing aid office in Downtown Houston. Ben Walker lived by the simple philosophy, "Never be satisfied until the patient is completely satisfied."

In the late eighties Mr. Walker passed away and a new family took over Walker Hearing Aid Centers. Bankie Lavender shared the same vision for Walker Hearing Aid Centers that Ben Walker had lived by throughout his career. Bankie was very familiar with hearing loss. Her son and partner, Ken, had spent the first several years of his life in the deaf world. Fortunately, through a new (and at the time) revolutionary surgical procedure Ken's hearing was restored. This experience left a lasting impression on Bankie and galvanized her commitment and dedication to helping those people who have hearing loss. Her remarkable spirit and uncompromising dedication is well know throughout the city and state! In 2008 Bankie retired from Walker Hearing Aid Centers to enjoy a slower pace and spend more time with her grandchildren. In a seamless transition, Ken took over the daily operation of all Walker Hearing Aid Center locations. Ken still invokes the same philosophy that was passed on from his mother, "Give the best hearing possible and never be satisfied until the patient is satisfied."
